The direct descendants of the many drinks that are made from blending whiskey with honey and herb are of course whiskey liqueurs. These whiskey might have been a bit too characteristic to be had on their own.
There are countless and countless whiskey liqueurs commercially available today but Drambuie is without much doubt the best known and it is also a very important ingredient in the ever popular cocktail the world-renowned Rusty Nail.

Some other notable whiskey liqueurs are Glayva, Columba Cream, Lochan Ora, Glenddich, Famous Grouse and finally Stags Breath.
Whiskey liqueurs are highly suitable for those of you with a particularly sweet tooth. Most hardcore whiskey drinkers would just not go anywhere near them. These people would also probably say that you should drink whiskey as it comes without adding ice, water, ginger ale or even soda.
But again drinking whiskey is largely about personal choice and taste, and you should drink it the way you most enjoy it. Whiskey liqueurs may just be your favourite drink if you’ve got an extraordinarily sweet tooth.
